What is SMACS?
SMACS stands for "SMart Airlock Control System" The genesis of SMACSSMACS was born in close collaboration with Fastcom experts in image processing and a well-known Swiss bank in early 2002. The bank was confronted with the problem of installing secure anti-tailgating in a large 3-door access lobby to their data centres. One solution was to install a physical airlock in front of each data centre entrance door. Not only would this increase costs, the bank needed to be able to transport material in and out of the data centres which would have necessitated an additional transport access next to each airlock. After intensive collaboration with the security managers of the bank and the experts of Fastcom, a new star was born: SMACS. Where is SMACS used?SMACS is used world-wide in banks, data centers, administrations, hospitals, airports, airport immigration and many other industries to prevent unauthorized persons from entering secure areas. SMACS is commercialized through approved System Integrators on a project basis with the consulting support of Fastcom's pre-sales team. SMACS is also available in the form of SMACS eEntry as a plug-in to speed-gates distributed through major turnstile manufacturers. SMACS is also integrated in airlocks and circle locks with a world-leading manufacturer. When does your company need SMACS?What is your current situation for accessing security areas?
